My mother’s death marked a big change in my life including the imminent loss of my childhood home. I decided to paint its corners, details, objects, shelves, family photos, books, and any other thing that had meaning for me. Through painting I was “taking it all with me” in a metaphorical way. This period was very intense, and producing this collection was extremely painful but also healing.
